Join us for an exciting new course designed for beginner needle felters! If you're curious about this versatile craft, this is the perfect opportunity to learn the basics and beyond. We'll introduce you to the essential equipment and materials needed to create various patterns and shapes. Throughout the course, you'll explore different techniques for sculpting wool into beautiful creations. ̨Íåswag covered and enhanced will include understanding different types of wool and needles, mastering basic felting techniques, and creating both flat and three-dimensional pieces. You'll also learn how to incorporate embellishments and combine colours effectively. We'll discuss how artists can embrace sustainability and ethical sourcing of materials. Through engaging class discussions and an image board on Canvas, we'll share inspiration and ideas, ultimately designing and creating our own unique needle-felted pieces based on a specific creative brief. We'll meet online weekly for 11 weeks, and the tutor will demonstrate each step of the needle felting process. These sessions will be recorded for you to revisit between classes. You'll also receive handouts and plenty of inspiration through class discussions and links to websites and Pinterest. Please note that a working camera switched on is a requirement for this course.
