Level of study
Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your ̨Íåswag, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic ̨Íåswag and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of ̨Íåswag. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and ̨Íåswag in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic ̨Íåswag or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and ̨Íåswag you have in this subject, applying your ̨Íåswag and knowledge in a more complex way.

Course description
If you are just starting to learn English and want to start preparing to apply for work, this course will be right for you. The course is for people who live in Coventry and are beginner level in English. It is a face-to-face course. You will start to learn some of the language needed to apply for work and also at work. You will practise your speaking and listening ̨Íåswag alongside reading and writing in English. We will help you to start becoming more confident to talk to people in English in your local community and also to become more independent so you don’t have to rely on others to translate everything. Some of the things we will cover in this course include:
• Reading and writing the alphabet
• Saying and writing your name
• Communicating basic needs
• Counting to 10
• Naming places in the community
After you have completed this short course, you can move on to further courses in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), maths, digital ̨Íåswag or other work-related ̨Íåswag. Some of these courses lead to formal qualifications. This course is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority.
