Humans have always expressed their spirituality through art, from the earliest cave drawings to contemporary installations in cathedrals. This course concentrates on how European art has depicted the Christian faith, but also looks at the art of Islam and the Indian art of Buddhism and Hinduism. Beginning with cave art around the world, we look at some of the earliest artistic expressions of humanity’s search for the beyond. Buddhist and Hindu art from the centuries before Christ is discussed, as is art from the earliest roots of Islam from the seventh century onwards.

Learn how to improve your writing ̨Íåswag and build on the basic reading ̨Íåswag from entry 1. Adult English courses teach you practical communication ̨Íåswag to help you get a job or study. Develop your English ̨Íåswag through real-life situations. This course teaches you tools and resources to improve your use of English in new and familiar situations. These ̨Íåswag can help you succeed in your studies, professional situations, and social interactions. This is a government-funded accredited English course for adults. Functional ̨Íåswag qualifications are free if you don't already have a GCSE in English or Maths at grades A*-C, or 4-9. We'll check your level and any previous qualifications before you start. This ensures you are on the correct course.

This is a pre-employment programme delivered online that is designed to support you into work within Adult Social Care. The programme will help you to prepare for work in a care setting. The programme consists of up to three elements: GMCA Care Certificate (where you will cover the theory elements of the Care Certificate), L1 Stress Awareness and L1 Mental Health Awareness (additional accredited courses you can join if suitable). Once you have completed the course with WEA, GM Careers will place you for a working interview in a social care setting. This is designed like a working interview, to give you the opportunity to try out the working environment.

The term will focus on the consolidation of the various Principalities of Outremer in the aftermath of the first crusade. A particularly closer examination will be made of how such embattled regions managed to survive their first precarious years, despite pressure from neighbouring Muslim states. We will also pay close attention to the development and growth of the various governments in those regions, and their ongoing relationships with neighbouring states both Muslim and Christian. Finally, we will consider the circumstances of the Second Crusade and why it failed in its primary objectives, as well as the consequences of its failure.

This course is part 2 of 2 courses that will concentrate on beginners ESOL ̨Íåswag for learners going into entry 1or entry 2 in September and are wanting to upskill further. The classes will revolve around the ̨Íåswag of speaking, listening, reading and writing. The class is run by a qualified and experienced tutor who will help you develop, improve and provide feedback throughout the course.
