Take your first steps towards learning how to communicate in English in a friendly and welcoming class. Please note that this class is only available for learners whose children attend Woodnook Primary School for safeguarding reasons. This is the second course of two which will help you to learn ESOL whilst your children are in class. The course will run alongside in term 3 and continue to the summer holidays. The course will test your English level at the start and then the tutor will work with you to improve your language ̨Íåswag including; speaking, listening, reading and writing.

"Step Into Work" is a comprehensive program designed to equip you with the essential ̨Íåswag needed for job hunting. This course covers writing effective cover letters, creating standout CVs, and mastering interview techniques. Through practical workshops and expert guidance, you'll learn how to present yourself confidently to potential employers and increase your chances of landing the job you desire. This course will help you examine your current ̨Íåswag and qualities and how they transfer to job related tasks. You’ll need access to the internet to take this ‘Step into Work’ program as our tutors use the WEA’s digital learning portal, Canvas, to send you important information and tasks.

Develop foundational reading ̨Íåswag with this Entry 1 English course for beginners. This English course is for speakers of other languages. It will help you learn basic English to study, work, and live in the UK. This ESOL reading course helps people who are just starting to learn English. It will help you gain confidence reading short texts and common words in English. There are also writing and speaking & listening courses at this level.

This five-week course is for those whose first language is NOT English. It is an intermediate (B1) level course and learners should already be familiar with a basic grasp of the English Language in order to access this course. The sessions will develop learners’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening ̨Íåswag. Lessons will be delivered in a face-to-face setting using a range of teacher-led and freer interactive activities to develop learners’ proficiency and confidence. In addition to a focus on general pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary, students will be encouraged to reflect on the English they hear around them and bring new vocabulary and expressions into the classroom to share.
