History: How Renaissance Art Interpreted Christmas
This five week course will explore the art of the Renaissance and its depiction of the Nativity and Epiphany. We will explore a number of artists but our principal focus will be on works by Giotto, Fra Angelico, Botticelli, Breughal and Caravaggio. Each artist’s work will be well illustrated by reproductions on Canvas, allowing you to view the works under discussion.
The course will appeal to all those with an interest in the Renaissance and art more generally, and will provide context and interpretations of each major work under discussion.
There will be ample opportunity for you to exercise your own interpretations and views in what will be lively and informative sessions.

Entry Level ESOL: Everyday English - Pre-intermediate
This is the second course of six aimed at elementary (A1/A2) level learners. This six-week course is for those whose first language is NOT English and will practice all four major ̨Íåswag in each session to develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Although this is a low-level English course, learners should be able to recognise sounds of the English letters and read simple lines of text prior to joining so that they would not struggle. In this short course, we will focus on Expressionism, a key art movement of the beginning of the 20th century.
